Zavattini was a neorealist filmmaker who said that the perfect neorealist film was 90 minutes were nothing really happened. And i’d love to hear this guy rip Zavattini a knew ass hole is all i was trying to say, rather unclearly, i admitt.

Funnily enough, I went to this guy’s seminar here in Melbourne over the past three days and he actually had a fair bit of praise for Zavattini’s screenwriting. Specifically, for The Bicycle Thief and Umberto D. It’s a shame that I can’t remember specifically what he said but I made sure to right down the guy’s name.

that’s so odd! although i don’t actually see Zavattini practicing what he preached, so maybe not that out of his train of thought. The Bicycle Thief used extreme coincidence and is a great movie, but i still hate his writing.
