This is William Wyler’s The Collector (1965). It tells the story of a man who kidnaps a woman just for the pleasure of having her there. The stars are Terence Stamp and Samantha Eggar.     miranda seems like an arrogant snob in the book. i like miranda in the film better

    But that’s the whole point of the character. Miranda’s death is written directly from his viewpoint, and he is not a compassionate man (rather, a sociopath), so he describes her death with no more sadness or disappointment than he would if one of his butterflies had died.

    I found the book to be far, far better than the film.

    NOTHING about this film is like the book. i personally found the book to be shit anyway.

    I know. She is described as a long hair blonde in the book and that’s how I’d expected it.
