Is it okay to write in screenplay format in a short story contest? It doesn’t have any rules or regulations against it, but how good are my chances of winning? Would you still judge my story like every other contestant?

I love to write and I really think that I am talented. I never finished my degree. I have always thought about being a screen writer. How do you get into this profession? Are any of you screen writers? What steps should I take to become one and also how much does it pay?THANK YOU!!

2hrs40min
2hrs50min
and
2hrs.
How long would I have to make the screenplays for those running times?

Hi there I would like to write several screenplays for some movies but I have no idea where to start, im 20 years old, with no writing experience, but I’m very passionate about the stories I have to tell. Im based in the UK and there are degrees at local universities but I don’t know if its necessary?

Say if I wanted to emphasize something, should I put the speech in italics?
If I want to show the character is shouting, should I capitalise the dialogue?
Or does it seem amateurish?
